Gulf of Georgia Cannery, National Historic Site:

ENTECH assisted in the restoration and protection of the Gulf of Georgia Cannery, National Historic Site, in Steveston, BC.  The cannery was under attack with anobiid beetles (a type of powder post beetle) and the structure was quickly being destroyed. ENTECH was contracted to research the problem, and devise and implement a treatment plan.

A complicating factor was that the cannery is located above the tidal estuary of the Fraser River, and this sensitive ecosystem had to be considered when devising treatment options.

After completion of this multi-year project, the Gulf of Georgia Cannery is now a popular tourist attraction and museum, and the threat of wood boring insects has been contained.
